Vocal Standard
Monday 6:30 - 9:30 pm - Fellowship Hall
Central StandardVocal Standard is a prospective chorus within Region 5 of Sweet Adelines Intl. We sing 4-part a cappella harmony, primarily in the barbershop style.  Our director, Robert Mance, is the musical director at Shawnee Presbyterian, as well as the director of Central Standard, the men’s chorus that also rehearses at the church.  We welcome female singers who are looking to broaden their knowledge of and love for music and have a diverse group of members from high school students, to music educators, and professional musicians and choreographers.  We post rehearsal dates, where anyone is welcome to come watch/listen, or sing with us, as well as performance dates, on our Facebook page at Vocal Standard Chorus.  We are a new group looking to “Set the Standard” within our parent organization, Sweet Adelines International.

Meals On Wheels
Daily, Mondy - Friday
Meals on WheelsThere are many in our community who for physical or emotional reasons are unable to provide for their own nutritional needs. Shawnee Mission Meals on Wheels is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving our homebound, elderly, and disabled neighbors by providing a nutritious noon meal. They deliver meals to people throughout the Shawnee Mission area. Recipients of the meals do not need to be of a certain age and do not need to commit to a long period of time to have the meals delivered. Their program is not connected with the federal program of Meals on Wheels and therefore functions a bit differently. Their clients pay for their meals at the rate of $5.25 unless a reduced price is needed. The meals are catered by Hy-Vee and delivered by volunteers. This program is funded by clients meal payments and donations. Any donations given go to personnel costs, subsidies and operating expenses. They receive no federal, state or county funds.

Their office hours are 7:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M. Monday-Friday. Their phone number is 913.642.0489.
